Personalising Your Mobile Phone

Friday November 6, 2009

Unless you have an old and very basic mobile phone, there will be countless ways that you can really make it your own. And when you do this you take ownership of it and make it yours more than you might have thought was possible.

Let’s start with the wallpaper. This is an image that you will see every time you open your phone, or switch it on and use it. You might want to download an image from the internet to use for this purpose, but the best option is to take a picture with the camera on your phone and use that instead. Many people have a photo of their partner or perhaps their children to use as wallpaper.

But what else can you do to personalise your own mobile phone?

The next obvious thing is the ringtone. What do you want to hear when people call you? You might have a particular television theme you like that you could put on your phone. Alternatively you might like to use one of the options already provided on your phone.

But if your mobile is capable of letting you do it, you could actually use a different ringtone for each person in your phone book. The best bet is to do this for the people you know best of all. By doing this you will instantly know who is phoning you because the ringtone will identify them. These can be funny, appropriate or serious – it’s up to you. But there are lots of tones and sounds you can use for this purpose.

Another way to personalise your phone is to think about adding certain games or applications to it. Again it will depend on what phone you have as to what the options are, but in many cases a modern phone will give you plenty of options to choose from.

Once you really start exploring all the options you will see that it is quite amazing how many things you can do to personalise the mobile phone you have in your pocket. It may take some time to get it exactly how you want it, but when you do you will get even more use and pleasure out of it.

Make sure too that you always keep an eye out for other things you can add to your phone. It can be constantly changing if you want it to be.
